What is the International Boat Show?
The Sydney International Boat Show is an annual boating and marine event organised by the Boating Industry Association (BIA). Hundreds of local and international exhibitors, and tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world attend every year, making it the largest recreational marine event in the southern hemisphere.
Often referred to as the trade fair for the boating industry, it’s become a key date in the diary for locals and tourists alike and is simply a must-attend event for all boat enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking to get familiar with the latest developments in the industry, have a particular product you’d like to find more information about, or just want to browse the array of beautiful vessels, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and marvel at.
When is the 2019 Sydney Boat Show?
The 2019 International Boat show will take place from Thursday 1st – Monday 5th August 2019.
Where is the International Boat Show 2019?
The International Convention Centre, Sydney (ICC) and Cockle Bay Marina are the two locations hosting the 52nd Sydney Boat Show. Situated in the heart of Darling Harbour, the world-class ICC enables the event to utilise over 32,000sqm of exhibition space and is only a short walk from the marina.
The show has been held at various locations throughout New South Wales since it launched in 1968, such as the Horden Pavillion and Glebe Island, but following the significant development of Darling Harbour, the ICC and Cockle Bay have been the event’s home for the past few years.
In total, there’s 4 display areas for guests to visit:
- Lower Level 1 (downstairs in the ICC)
- Upper Level 4 (upstairs in the ICC)
- Open Air Deck (upstairs in the ICC)
- Cockle Bay Marina (Darling Harbour)
What to do at the Show
With so many exhibitors in attendance, you’re unlikely to be bored at any time during the show. A diverse range of organisations will be there to showcase their most recent and exciting products, accessories, boating apparel, marine hardware and so on. There will also be plenty of educational seminars and informative talks going on throughout the day for you to attend if you wish.
If you step outside the ICC and take the short walk to Cockle Bay Marina, you’ll have the opportunity to view the display of luxury yachts and range of other stunning watercrafts. Set in the iconic location of Darling Harbour, it’s not uncommon to be overwhelmed with the magnitude of spectacular boats on show.
Sydney Boat Show Times
Both the halls in the International Convention Centre, Sydney and the marina will be open from 10am – 7pm each day of the show.
Sydney International Boat Show Tickets
Tickets for the 2019 Sydney International Boat Show will be available to purchase on the day from the main entrance to the ICC, as well as from the ticket booth in Cockle Bay Marina.
Tickets can also be bought in advance online – all info you need can be accessed by visiting the show’s website.
How to Get to the Show
Situated in the heart of Darling Harbour, the International Convention Centre and Cockle Bay Marina can both be easily accessed by car and public transport –
- Parking – The ICC has two car park facilities, but there are also plenty of other nearby car parks.
- Airport – Darling Harbour is just a 20-minute drive from Sydney Airport.
- Light Rail – The Light Rail travels through several Darling Harbour stations, including ICC Sydney’s stops.
- Train – Town Hall and Central Stations are a 10-minute walk from the ICC.
Bus – The ICC has its own bus stop. Bus routes 389 and 501 stop at Harris Street near Allen Street – a 10-minute walk from the ICC.
